The King-Pin of Your Success: Identifying and Releasing What Holds You Back
Dear friend, what is the King-pin of your success?
Imagine the scene: In the logging camps of old, during spring, the rivers would be filled with logs flowing downstream. But sometimes, the logs would jam, bringing the entire flow to a standstill. The loggers knew that somewhere in that mess, there was one log causing the jam—this was the “king-pin.” Once they identified and dislodged it, the river would once again run freely, and progress could continue.
In our lives and businesses, we often experience these “log jams.“ We sense that something is holding us back, preventing us from moving forward with the speed and ease we desire. But how often do we take the time to identify the king-pin, the thought or belief that’s at the heart of our blockage?
Maybe your king-pin is resentment, fear, or self-doubt. These thoughts and emotions, left unchecked, can create a mental and emotional log jam, holding back your success and fulfillment.
Consider Steve Jobs and Apple. At one point, internal conflicts and misaligned visions nearly derailed the company. The king-pin was a lack of clear leadership and unified direction. Once Jobs returned and identified the core issues, Apple not only resumed its path but revolutionized entire industries. The removal of that king-pin allowed the river of innovation to flow freely once more.
So, how do you find your king-pin? Start by reflecting on what thought or belief seems to surface whenever you face challenges. Is it fear of failure? A sense of unworthiness? Resentment towards a past event or person?
Once identified, it’s time to release it. Much like the loggers, you must gently but firmly dislodge it. This might mean forgiveness, embracing a new mindset, or simply allowing yourself to let go of what no longer serves you.
When you release your king-pin, you open the gates for opportunities, growth, and joy to flow into your life or business once again. The river runs free, and with it, so do you.
If you’re ready to identify and remove the king-pin in your life or business, let’s talk. Whether it’s personal coaching or guidance for your team, I’m here to help you clear the path and unlock your full potential.
